![]() ![]() The huge surge in population and the booming extraction business led Atara and Highwind to construct the Atara-Highwind Railway linking Sandrock to these cities to support the extraction industry. The wildlife was hunted to create ranches and the oasis was exploited and polluted. ![]() The newly arrived prospecting companies cared little for the environment and left most of the local prairie land void of trees, using the timber to build their homes. This was during the first Alliance- Duvos War, and the discovery led to a huge surge of prospectors and Ruin Divers that wanted to extract the buried metropolis's wealth of Relics and Power Stones from the Old World. įive years later, a group of prospectors discovered that Hotel Sandrock was built near a buried metropolis. Martle lived in respect for the local nature and demanded that the visitors at her hotel did the same. Martle was so taken in by the scenery that she decided to stay and opened Hotel Sandrock for other travellers. 71 years ago, the caravan rested for the night at an oasis in the Eufaula Desert with plenty of fruit, plants and animals. Martle was a traveller on a caravan from Atara to Highwind. Sandrock owes it existence to Martle's Oasis. Like a pure sapphire in the desert, the beauty of Martle’s Oasis is truly a sight to behold. Sandrock imports most of its water from Atara and Portia and exports Fire Stone, Eye of the Tiger, Sand Tea, and earthenware like Ceramic Jugs. The Eufaula Tunnel does not exist at the start of either My Time at Sandrock or My Time at Portia, but is built as part of the main story. The town is connected to both Highwind and the Alliance capital, Atara, by the Atara-Highwind Railway and to Portia by the Eufaula Tunnel. There are patches of yellow grass as well as more hilly areas with low shrubs and small trees. Sandrock's region is extraordinarily hot and dry, characterized by large swaths of warm orange sand punctuated with reddish rocks, earning it its name. It is a desert town with the smallest population in the Alliance of Free Cities, and is bordered by Portia, Atara, Walnut Groove and Highwind, all of which are other members of the Alliance. Sandrock is the titular city in My Time at Sandrock, the second game in the My Time series. Sandrock is a great place if you can get past the arid environment, frequent sandstorms, constant bandit attacks, incessant conflict over resource distribution, wandering sentient beasts with the goal of global conquest. ![]()

Less solid are its hybrid credentials: while it’s hard to ignore 8K footage at up to 30fps – and 4K at up to 120fps – the R5’s versatility for videographers is limited by heat restrictions on recording times, with long ‘cool down’ periods. The electronic shutter also delivers rapid 20fps continuous shooting, completing a package that’s as capable on the street as it is in the studio. Next-gen Dual Pixel autofocus, backed up by Canon’s Digic X processor, is similarly excellent, with outstandingly accurate tracking and animal detection skills that will blow away safari shooters. The 45MP full-frame sensor is exceptional, producing superlative images in low light, with fantastic noise-handling even past ISO 4000. In fact, it’s Canon’s best mirrorless camera to date. ![]() Though the updates might seem relatively modest, the Z6 II is an even more competent all-rounder as a result, making it the most consistent full-frame camera you can buy.Īs its spec sheet confirms, the new Canon EOS R5 is an incredibly powerful tool. In the hand, magnesium alloy body parts, weather sealing and a comfy grip make the Z6 II feel more durable than rivals, while a new UHS-II SD card slot resolves one of its predecessor’s key weaknesses. Video has also been enhanced, with a firmware update due in February 2021 set to unlock 4K capture at 60p, to compliment the new 10-bit HLG HDR output option. The main addition is a second EXPEED 6 image processor, which boosts burst shooting to a maximum of 14fps and improves autofocus performance. Unchanged is the 24.5MP CMOS sensor, which continues to capture excellent detail and plenty of dynamic range. The Z6 II takes that very capable base and smooths out a few wrinkles to deliver an even more polished shooting experience. With a great blend of performance, handling and value, the Nikon Z6 was one of our favorite full-frame mirrorless cameras. There’s no question that the EOS R6 represents a massive upgrade from the EOS 6D Mark II – or even the EOS R and EOS RP – though its performance doesn’t come cheap. The EOS R6's sensor resolution won’t grab headlines and JPEG dynamic range can be a little disappointing, with a lack of detail in highlights and shadows, but overall image quality is still darn good. And it’s an excellent one: 12fps mechanical burst speeds jump to 20fps when you switch to the electronic shutter, while the addition of Dual Pixel CMOS autofocus to the 20.1MP sensor results in a significant improvement to autofocus and tracking performance. In any case, Canon has made clear the EOS R6 is a stills camera first and foremost. Its video specs can’t rival the R5’s 8K skills, but shooting 4K/60p across the full width of the sensor is hardly shabby. An ergonomic design means the R6 is comfortable for all-day use and, paired with Canon’s outstanding first effort at in-body image stabilization, proves an absolute pleasure to shoot with. ![]()

Yet again, Chevy decided to make some appearance changes to the Elky. This engine could be had in 325 hp or 360 hp versions, producing 410 lbs-ft and 415 lbs-ft of torque respectively. The truck also received several new features, including a new instrument panel and shoulder seat belts, but these were overshadowed by the might of the 396 cube big-block V8, finally made available this year. Although the underpinnings were pretty much the same from the ’64-’65 models, the ’66 had completely new sheet metal below the beltlines. Once again, Chevy decided to redesign the El Camino for ’66. Seekers of high horsepower wouldn’t have to wait long though, and Chevy hinted at this with their 396-powered El Camino roadster that toured the auto shows for 1965. ![]() This was a good start in the performance department. This year would see a couple of new options, including AM/FM radio and a 350 hp, 327 cube V8. This would have to wait though, because the most powerful 1964 Elky models only came with a 300 hp, 327 cubic-inch V8.ġ965 saw a redesign for the Chevelle and El Camino, and because of the peak in the center of the grille, overall length was increase by 2.5 inches. Sharing the underpinnings of the new Chevelle, the El Camino was poised to enter the muscle car arena. Even though the El Camino originated on the Impala line, it turned out to be a hit based on the Chevelle. The El Camino thundered back onto the scene in 1964, riding on the new, redesigned A-body platform. After once again seeing the success of the Ranchero– newly redesigned on the Falcon platform– Chevy decided to close the books on the El Camino. Chevy redesigned the El Camino for 1960, but sales plummeted with only fourteen thousand units sold. The previous year the El Camino sold just over twenty-two thousand units, eclipsing the Ranchero both in 1959 sales and its 1957 debut. Interestingly, the steel bed floor could be removed, revealing the rear portion of the Brookwood floor pan, foot wells included.Īfter the relative success of the Elky in 1959, it had a rough time in 1960. The El Camino was also billed as the first Chevrolet pickup to have a steel bed floor rather than wood. The car was based on the Brookwood 2-door wagon, the exterior trim was that of a Bel Air, and the interior was borrowed from the Biscayne. When it was introduced, the 1959 El Camino was a conglomeration of several GM cars. markets, and the El Camino followed two years later. Allegedly this came about in the 1930s when a woman wrote a letter to Ford Australia asking for a vehicle that could “carry them to church on Sunday and take the pigs to market on Monday.” This simple request eventually led to Ford’s creation of the Ranchero for U.S. For years, farmers in Australia had been using vehicles called Utes to tote goods and equipment back and forth from farm to market. While the El Camino was radical in design, it was a new play on an old idea. The El Camino was introduced on Octoto compete with Ford’s popular Ranchero. ![]() |
